In Victoria, there is significant potential for geothermal resources to yield a renewable energy source. The Victorian Geothermal Assessment Report (VGAR) is exploring the options for Victoria, with the aim of establishing a Victorian Geothermal Institute to develop a proof-of-concept 10 MW hot dry rock enhanced geothermal power station. This will enable the exploration of the potential power source and new innovative technologies to reduce the risks and investment costs.
